Daniel J. Becka graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 1985, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1988 and was an Associate Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.

After graduating from law school, Dan joined one of the largest law firms in Chicago, Illinois, where he began his commercial litigation career. He continued to develop his skills and experience with both large and boutique law firms practicing in Chicago; Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, California; and Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton, Florida, before returning to Chicago in 2001.

Dan has represented companies and individuals in a wide variety of complex commercial matters throughout the country, including class actions, corporate derivative actions, securities litigation and arbitration, libel and defamation, fraud, employment, contract, landlord/tenant matters, consumer fraud and deceptive practices, corporate law, professional malpractice, trade secrets and intellectual property, insurance/reinsurance litigation, commercial financing litigation, corporate and securities transactions, and state and federal trial and appellate practice.

Practicing in both large and small law firms during his 30-plus year career, Dan opened the Law Offices of Daniel J. Becka, LLC in February 2011 where he continues to practice in all areas of complex commercial litigation. Dan often co-counsels with other firms on larger cases and is Of Counsel to the law firm of Gaido & Fintzen (www.gaido-fintzen.com).

Dan is admitted to practice before the courts of Illinois, California, and Florida. He is routinely admitted pro hac vice in cases pending in other jurisdictions and has been admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, Ninth Circuit, and Eleventh Circuit; U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern District of Michigan, District of Arizona, Central District of California, Southern District of Florida, and Northern District of Florida; and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
